    About No Worries Pool Care

Family-owned residential pool service — headquartered in Lewisville, TX, serving North Texas since 2004.

We met at InterSkate Roller Rink in Lewisville in 1986. Stephanie was twelve. Casey was fifteen.

We learned what commitment means long before we had a business to apply it to.

    The long way around

We weren’t allowed to date until Stephanie turned sixteen. So for four years there was InterSkate on the weekends — “Jam on It,” “Atomic Dog,” a packed floor — and nothing more than that.

Stephanie went to school in Lewisville. Casey went to school in Argyle. In 1986 that was two different worlds, and the phone call between them counted as long distance — a cord stretched as far as it would go in somebody’s kitchen, and a bill somebody’s parents noticed.

In 1989, with a year of waiting still to go, The Judds released Young Love (Strong Love). It got those years about right. We have never needed another song for them.

Four years of that, for something neither of us had any guarantee about. It turned out to be the whole pattern. Everything good we have, we got by staying somewhere longer than was convenient.

    Our daughters

Our first daughter arrived in 1991. We waited two more years and then married — to A Whole New World, which felt about right at the time and has aged better than most things from 1993. Our second came in 1994, our third in 1997.

In 2012 we were expecting a son. We lost him at twenty-four weeks. He is part of our family, and we don’t leave him out of the telling.

Today there are five grandchildren, and a grand-dog who is confident he outranks all of them. Forty years since the rink. Thirty-three married.

    The people around us

Casey’s junior high graduating class in Argyle had forty-two people in it. He is still friends with most of them.

That is usually the detail people have the hardest time believing, and it is the one that explains everything else. We don’t let go of people. We show up for them, and they have shown up for us, through the parts of a life nobody plans for.

People sometimes tell us our story gives them something to aim at. We never set out to be anyone’s example, and we don’t take it lightly when someone says so.

    And the business

We worked side by side for years before we ever worked for ourselves. By the time we opened No Worries Pool Care in 2004, doing something together wasn’t a leap — it was just the arrangement we already had, pointed at our own name.

We put it in Lewisville. Eighteen years after a Saturday night at the rink, we built the thing we’d spend the rest of our working lives on in the same town we met in. That wasn’t planned. It’s just where we belonged.

We bought our home in Flower Mound in 2005, and we are still in it — a stone’s throw from the old Morriss family homestead, settled in the 1870s and farmed by five generations. It’s where Morriss Road gets its name.

That is not a marketing detail, but it answers a fair question: we service this area because it is the area we chose to live in, and have not left in twenty-one years. This isn’t a service area we expanded into. It’s our neighborhood.

Twenty-two years in, none of it has been delegated. Casey is the one at your equipment pad. Stephanie is the one who sent your invoice. There is no layer between the people who own this company and the people who do the work, because they are the same two people.

    Which brings us to you

Nearly every pool company in Texas calls itself family-owned. It’s worth knowing what it means here.

It means the commitment you get is the only kind we know how to make. When we say we will be there Tuesday, that is the same promise as the rest of it, scaled down to a Tuesday. When something goes wrong at your house, it reaches us directly — there is nobody else for it to reach.

We’d rather earn a pool than sell one. That isn’t a slogan. It’s the only way two people who have been doing this side by side for twenty-two years know how to operate.

One last thing. Look at the list of towns we serve and you’ll find Lewisville, where Stephanie went to school, and Argyle, where Casey did. Flower Mound, Highland Village, Double Oak and Lantana all sit on the road between them. Northlake is the one exception, and we’re glad to have it.

So we did not choose this service area off a map. We picked it in junior high, without knowing that was what we were doing. It is the road between our two schools, and it was the road between our two hearts.
